Fated to survive…
FBI agent David Harris’s life nearly came to an end during a botched raid. Though he survived, his body and spirit were broken by the perilous underworld he believes his estranged partner, Diana Reyes, has embraced with her Vampire husband. Now, left to a life in a wheelchair, David is angry, distrustful, and withdrawn…
Meant to love…
Seeing her former lover, David, again rekindles feelings long forgotten for Maggie Gonzalez. But she’s been thrown into a terrifying future as a werewolf, threatening to destroy what they might have again.
Destined to die…
Diana Reyes has lived on the edge since her blood contamination by Vampire Ryder Latimer. Her unexpected pregnancy is putting a huge strain on her body, but she’ll do anything to help right the wrongs of the past and help her former partner find happiness…even if it’s in the arms of a werewolf.
Born to Love Excerpt
Maggie hung back as Sebastian grabbed hold of Diana’s hand
and dragged her and Ryder to the center of the room, then handed glasses to the
newly married couple. Waiters were busy passing everyone champagne to everyone
in preparation for the toast, and as Maggie stood there, one of them pressed a
glass into her hand.
She stared at the liquid, so bubbly and full of life. It
mirrored the emotions on her friends’ faces, although Maggie knew that beyond
the happy façade, there was a world of uncertainties they would have to face
together.
Diana’s pregnancy had altered whatever weird thing had been
eating her life away since she was contaminated with Ryder’s vampire blood
during an FBI raid nearly three years earlier. But those in their inner circle
understood that Diana’s health was precarious at best. There were no guarantees
that she could survive long enough to bring the child to term.
It was therefore bittersweet when Sebastian wound up his
sweet and sappy toast by wishing them a long and happy life together, and all
the guests raised their glasses and chimed in with their best wishes.
Maggie held her glass high and toasted her dear friends,
silently praying that Diana and Ryder would have their happily-ever-after. They
deserved it after the long road they’d had to travel to reach this spot on
their journey.
She also prayed that she might have a happy ending too, one day, although in the last two months that seemed further away than ever, especially since David had walked out of her life.
Or maybe rolled out of her life was a better term. David had
suffered crippling injuries the night of that fateful FBI raid. Maggie had
stuck by his side, and had intended to remain stuck until he came out of the
bitter, solitary shell into which he had withdrawn. But he’d had other ideas,
and hadn’t yet come out of it. Maybe he never would, she acknowledged
painfully.
She drove away the sadness of that thought and tried instead
to concentrate on being happy over her friend’s joy at entering this next phase
in her life.
And on the champagne.
Lots and lots of champagne. Until the first slow whirl of
the room warned her to take a seat outside for some fresh air to clear her
head.

first novel was released and over a decade later, Caridad is the author of
